davidspeight 0 Posted January 10, 2012 Lovely shot Rodney, Those rocks on the right hand side make for a very nice diagonal pulling you in and the BW conversion is excellent. I just wonder if the foreground might sharpen up a little more (it wouldn't need to be much) although it's possible the upload process has robbed a bit. Cheers, Dave. Link to comment
rodneyo 0 Posted January 10, 2012 thanks for your comments, i agree it needs sharpening in the foreground, believe it or not this image was just a flick to black and white in lightroom and a slight contrast boost with no other editing and uploaded straight . its great to get constructive criticism which is the best form of advice , thanks rodney Link to comment
melloncollie 0 Posted January 11, 2012 i agree with the sharpening, and i feel it a little underexposed and lack of contrast. i post here a version how i would process it, hope you dont mind. it may be a matter of taste, maybe it is not what you wanted, but it looks better to my eyes this way.otherwise a good photo, nice light, and composition. rodneyo 0 Posted January 11, 2012 I appreciate the advice , i like wat you have done however i think i would like to be somewhere in between the two versions , a little too bright on the rocks for me, i will post another version and you can let me know what you think , great critique , keep bringing it , thanks rodney Link to comment
rodneyo 0 Posted January 11, 2012 here is another version , i dont think we are too far apart now , maybe i was a little harsh saying yours was too bright , i think this is probably would be my version for print , all comments welcome , thanks rodney Link to comment
melloncollie 0 Posted January 12, 2012 yes, much better this way. the exposure and brightness fixed, however i feel a little bit of contrast would make it even better. but anyway, this is subjective and your second version is already good enough. best regards! Link to comment
