Even if you're unlucky enough to have your yard flood during a heavy rain, at

least it looks pretty at Christmastime.

Hi Amy,

A nice scene capture. Rather unusual for the season.

I am a bit surprised by the lack of sharpness from the 23mm at F/5.6. The ISO 3200 probably had much do with the loss in the finer details. The 23mm F/2.0 lens tested out well in my lab studies

At the working distance you were at, I would have used the lens at F/2.0, reducing the ISO to 400, using the same exposure.

Best Regards,  Mike

Thanks for looking Mike. I have wanted a deeper DOF, so that's why the 5.6. I was a bit nervous because it was ~0600 and I was standing in the yard of a neighboring house just off a main thoroughfare to get this shot. I'm pretty sure I wasn't nearly as steady as the light conditions called for.

I value your comments and always appreciate it when you stop by. :-)

Hi Amy,

If you were 30 or more feet away, the DOF would be much larger than is necessary for this image.

For distant scenes, a 23mm lens has a very large DOF inherently.

It has to be seen enlarged. Very beautiful form and lights .Its reflection, and placement on the frame, and the BG not completely dark, are creating a nice feeling of DOF. A very nice result.

Lannie and Pnina. Thank you both for looking and your kind words. (Sorry Lannie, I must have missed your comment for a few months!)
