The Confederate Flag means different things to different people. Some see it

as a symbol of racism while others think it merely symbolizes the Southern

Heritage. In either case, I thought the juxtaposition with Christmas lights

(Good will toward men and all that) was interesting. I do realize the focus is

way off, but it might've been even worse had I realized the occupant was

watching me from inside the back window. :-)

Hi Amy, This image does demonstrate that our mind can process the image even if it is not optimal.

It appears that the 1/4 second exposure caused a motion blur, rather than the focus being off.

Since the 23mm was used at F/8, the DOF should be enormous. For example, if were only 12 feet away, your total DOF would be from 5 feet to Infinity. You were most likely further away , making the DOF even greater !

Best Regards,  Mike

This is among the very first of yours--if not the very first--that I remember seeing.

I'm sorry to have neglected how you have grown.  I have had a rough couple of years and just let so many things go.

There is more of Eggleston in your work than you know.
