What lens did you use? 300/4? It's a tough rating for such a nice picture, but I try to rate the photographer, not the gear.

Niels, here we rate neither the photographer nor the gear. We rate the photo - and this is an excellent one, with good timing, good exposure, good focusing, and a perfect background. A worm or something passed from mother to baby would have been perfect, but you cannot have all. A low rating on this picture is an unjustifiable shame.

Neils, other than the fact you assumed I used a telephoto lenses (which I did) what is it about the photo you don't care for? Constructive critcism is always welcome but you gave none just a low score.

This one is very well done. The composition is effective, the colors are good and believable, your timing was perfect. The only thing that bothers me at all is that the mother birds head seems just a touch soft. In spite of that, The photo still works quite well...you should definitely be proud of this one!
