Hi Amy,

I like the presence of the rear view mirror to establish that you were in the car.

The slow shutter speed of 1/8 th second , yet the clarity obtained in the scene , suggests the shot was taken from a slow moving car . The short focal length lens, 23mm , also allows for an extended shutter speed to be used.

I know that when I would shot from a moving car , the window would be down and the camera rested upon the window frame as I drove around.

Best Regards,  Mike

Thank you, Mike. I too, felt the side mirror was important to this shot. In fact, in looking at several possible crops, the absence of the mirror made a big difference. It's been fun riding around looking for street scenes to shoot that I can actually capture without causing major traffic problems.

Thanks for your comments.

Amy

This is great.  I don't think too much about the Christmas decorations, but of the wonderful moment in time that you captured.

Without the mirror, something essential would definitely be lost.  I love to shoot on the move, in spite of the hazards.

Love the light off the wall, too!
