An old photo in a new frame: I've been playing with a new plug-in

lately. Does it work?

Thanks for stopping by.

It is what it says it is basic marine geomety, but what a simply beautiful piece of geometry. A shot that works so well in B & W. The position of the people and the patterns make this a really successful shot. Best wishes William

Excellent photo. Besides the very interesting composition I love the b/w tones that you have been chosen for this one.

My best regards to you

William and Cosmin: thank you both for your appreciation.

I must admit that this photo didn't look impressive enough for my taste when I took the shot about ten years ago. Canon G1 was my first digital camera, I had little or no experience with post processing photos on a computer and, honestly, I forgot about this photo until few months ago when I was looking for some pictures to illustrate my photography blog. This was the moment when I realized that the image converted to B/W and cropped properly may have some potential. Playing with a frame generator from Filter Forge Freepack (yeah, I'm cheap) I came up with this presentation.

I read with great interest the history of this photo, and it makes me pause and wonder at the amount of images that over the years that I thought had something but couldn't seem to get right and consequently deleted.

I really like this, it's one of those images that look symmetrical at first glance, and then you notice the small differences, I'm not a great advocate of frames, but I have to concede that cheap or not, this one delivers. I don't have many favourites in my little collection, as I tend to like images that I can revisit over and over again and find something new as well as the initial aesthetic attraction, this one is going to join them.

Sincere Compliments

Alf
