Pierre Dumas 270 Posted November 19, 2011 Thank you for your visit my dear friends!Shane, you didn't notice the camera used, no ISO speed ratings there! I don't think the camera shake effect harms this picture, on the contrary, I think it gives it a painterly look which I wanted!Kein Schnaps mein sehr lieber Freund! Dies ist eine Teestube! Vielen Dank!PDE Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 19, 2011 Pierre, cher ami.Ami majuscule, tu le sais ! I have a credo:"An artist should never explain his art. The art explains the artist."Do I have at least an admirer ?! Yes you do. You have at least three: Me, Myself and I If not a schnaps pub, I would like a Darjeeling G.F.O.P. Runglee Rungiot, please ;)Darjeeling is the best so far. Link to comment

william_staniforth 0 Posted November 19, 2011 Very atmospheric shot , the artificial light has given a nice mellow and warm feeling . Looks as though your subject is concentrating on keeping still . Hand held was very brave , I know I wouldn't attempt it at my age ! Bill Link to comment

hstelljes 41 Posted November 20, 2011 Hello my Friend, I too would say this is a little different for you but it still maintains your high standards, very well. I am enjoying the painterly effect achieved by your style and what a face. Take care.BR,Holger Link to comment
spoli 0 Posted November 20, 2011 Hi Pierre,You cannot forget your first love: film photography. Taking a picture with two seconds exposure, using a 30 years old camera without stabilization, in low light is almost like operating a view camera without tripod :-)You have steady hands my friend. Have you tried surgery?Interesting subject - especially, his almost sad face. He seems to be detached from the crowd, in meditation. I could see him in the church if it wouldn't be for the background so typical for many European pubs (it reminds me of one in my home town).I really like the couple in background - this was a french kiss lasting at least... two seconds!Great capture that preserves the atmosphere so well while contrasting with the face of your main character.Kind regards,Stefan Link to comment
donev1 706 Posted November 20, 2011 Very well done difficult photo. I like the atmosphere here, Pierre. Regards Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted December 1, 2011 Very nicely done Pierre. I recognize the bar from another fine photo you did awhile ago. I rather like this composition. It reminds me of an 'old world' painting, and your waiter has a rather 'wistful' look, as if he is pondering 'old memories'. I like the feel of the warm light.Well done Pierre,Kindest regards, Gail Link to comment
