Many Thanks for your encouraging feedback, much appreciated.  There are lots of things wrong with this image, that are dammed annoying, the drift wood beneath the tree and far bank, and the intensity of the afternoon sun. But it still looked worth a few shots, but this place remains elusive, I don't think I've got it at its best yet. Maybe its an early morning location, I might try that aproach next time.

A lovely tranquil atmosphere to this beautiful image Alf! Love the muted reflection compliments of the breeze. That gives a more painterly feel that suits the image well. Well seen my friend!

All the best,
Neil

Sincere Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. I think you have made a good observation regarding the distorted reflections. I usually curse the breeze as it spoils that mirror image I'm normlly looking for, but this time it seems to have worked in my favour.

Cheers Neil

By coincidence I took myself off to the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct today. I wish i had the sunshine in the lovely shot. Beautiful scene in a wonderful part of the world. Not that i am biased in any way !

Your not wrong it is a lovely part of the world! But I find the aquaduct itself particularly hard to photograph. I shall look forward to seeing your version of it, and hopefully get a few tips. Thanks for stopping by John Good to hear from you.

Alf, viewing this large is magnificent. overall, the colors and the compositional choice of the cottage row nestled back within the woods is charming. you should be knighted, Alf, for giving us these pieces of your magic island. the reflection is stunning for the ripples are like brush strokes. i live in a town nestled in the woods in the end cottage of an old townhouse row... and having captured this, you now know why i wish to photograph my yard in seasons and in the different light that falls upon it throughout the day. your scene here is grand and cozy... bravo ;-} dp

Sincere Thanks for your interest and invaluable feedback, very much appreciated.  I can't even imagine being knighted Donna, my wife would simply refuse to address me by my full title "Sir Alf"   :- )

I'm glad you noticed the textures created by the breeze rippled water, it was one of the elements that made me choose this over similar images with clear reflections, though I would normally choose clear reflections.

You are most fortunate to reside in an area close to nature, you will be able to witness the first snow in the woods, the first wild flowers, and the first buds of spring, and yes capture them at the optimum light at dawn or dusk. I shall look forward to seeing the results

Hi Alf- Scrolling through your fine images I was immediately attracted to this one, an image that creates an emotional response, the still waters, the beautiful soft colours create a feeling of quietness & stillness as if the world is standing still in a distant past.. How fortunate to visit & enjoy a place so seemingly peaceful.best Regards-Ross

Many Thanks for your interest and thoughtful feedback.  This is a remote little backroad in North Wales, very seldom is there any traffic on the lane, and there are only a few houses. The River Dee is deep and moves slowly at this point, and I tried to get the best of the colours of the trees, but I think I can do better and will be back there in autumn to have another go.

Hi Art- completely forgot I had commented on this super photograph. However , have already prepared my critique, so here goes. Hi Art - A comfortable warm day with a bright blue sky, a perfect day to lazily float downstream in my trusty canoe & come upon this beautitfull vista & decide to linger awhile. My first impression is of a secluded & peacefull spot to stop & enjoy .I love the feeling of being surrounded by trees, like having a comfort blanket.Notice the dead branches on the far shore & in the river,if this was a built up area they would be long gone, incidentally a number of photographers would have quickly eliminated with good old photoshop. This is a place for people who like nature as it is.Well ,time flies, have enjoyed the time spent here, will leave & hope to find a pub & enjoy a cool one. Must tell Art about this place. sure he would take some great images. Best Regards-Ross

I guess you must be attracted to it if you come back twice : - )

It is a very peaceful spot though. This part of the River Dee passes through The Veil Of Clwyd a very beautiful place.  And there is a pub located not too far away for that cold one : -)

Glad you enjoyed this Ross.

Many Thanks & Best Regards
