I really like the composition and the subject. Two things that could be done is to create a second layer increase the exposure and unsharp the heck out of the boy and surrounding rocks and then mask the rest of the scene out.

Ideally the original shot would have been more clear. I suspect that it may have been either the lens quality or the aperture too small, usually most lenses have a their sweet spot somewhere in-between the extremes.  Or perhaps the lens was simply slightly out of focus since I see no areas that are sharp. I'm assuming the camera was mounted on a stable tripod.

Here is a very quick post process that I did to improve the subject sharpness and exposure, by spending more time and effort on the original file a much better result could easily be achieved.

I agree with Dan - it is obvious that it is a very powerful image and the blurred water comes through with great effect here, bringing out the boy and sharpening that up a bit is just the touch it needs.

Thanks a lot guys. learn something new every day. Yea was on a stable trip pod. I used tamron 18-50 2.8 lens. i had a 58 mm ND filter(which is too small) so i had to hand hold that in front of the lens.
