misc singles Man

I was walking around DC on a Sunday afternoon killing a few minutes

when an otherwise busy city with cars and pedestrians opened up to

nothing except this man. It wasn't until looking at it and post processing

that I noticed the light and shadows. The light on the man was from the

giant reflection of light from the building on the right. Thanks for looking.

Great photo, though maybe despite the nice sunlight in it, not one that cheers up. For me, it's more a photo about loneliness or solitary life in the big city. His waiting to cross the street seems to emphasise this - waiting to jump into the city life. The posture seems right too... Even if the scene wasn't like this, it's much what the photo expresses for me.

Quite astonishing to catch a single person like this on otherwise completely empty streets, too, I'd say.

Wouter... thanks for the comments.  It was an unusual moment for sure that there were no other pedestrians and no cars.... who knows how long I would have had to wait if I wanted it that way.  As it was... A quick look and up with the camera and it was over.
