Perfect timing and colours!

This image bring back a thousands of memories to me, from the time, 1945-1950s. Remind me of one of our neighbors, and her kitchen. The celling dark color effectively increasing the  dramatic  effect on the image. I'm looking and looking and smiling. Bravo, Istvan. I wonder,  where is this place to day?

This is a very complicated photograph, with many details revealing a kitchen organized purely for functionality. There's a sense of the grotesque here in the woman's wide eyes, and knotted hands.  The woman's expression is hopeful; she is without self-pity, despite living in what we may call poverty. I like the slightly skewed angle, and the many details and color do not deter from the subject. I want to know what she is pointing at. Excellent photograph.
