Hi Pierre,

You made my day with this one. It will definitely become one of my favorites from your portfolio. So original, so effective. I cannot put it in words.

Thank you.

Pierre, One of the greatest inventions is a seam on the stockings: it gives an opportunity to totally confused men to focus on it and to know from which side to follow. But, nothing compares to bare feet in stilettos. Just don't get your heart pierced by them. ***Nadam se da nisi imao problema da nadjes model,.... Ali zasto si se zadrzao samo na prva dva sprata?***

This time you send a poor lady out into nowhere. Last time it was into the desert. Interesting and fascinating. Technical? Perfect of course. I hope she will survive.

Best regards

You always find some new idea to shock the audience. Very good. Looking long time to the picture, I had  some dizzy feeling. I don't know, from the zigzag bridge or  the leg?

Cheers.

Bela, I found myself confused as well and scratching my head to get a sense of the lighting in this composition.

Looking at the light shining the right leg you would think that the light source is somewhere behind and above but this contradicts the shadow left on the bridge deck that puts the light source above and in the front of the subject.

This kind of lighting requires at least two light sources: one in front producing the shadow we see and another one slightly behind the camera and above lighting the right leg; however, the shadow that the second source would produce was probably suppressed by the skillful editing of our friend Pierre.

And if I go further with my observations, a third light source would be right above and slightly on the left side to produce the discrete shadows of the left railing on the bridge deck and, again, no such shadow left by the lady's body exists. For the sake of this discussion I included a diagram to clarify my observations: the arrows correspond to the shadows produced by the light sources I mentioned above.

Probably there are few more clues for those inclined to solve puzzles. Aside from symbolism, I think Pierre created a charade too... Maybe unintentional,  but nevertheless making this photo even more fascinating.

And, as Dominik suggested, more wine may finally reveal its real meaning that would be very personal for each of us :-)

I must emphasize that if the picture is surrealistic then realistic shadows shouldn't be expected, the impression is what counts! Of course I can't find suitably lit legs in my PSD files collection, ha! Thank you for your efforts anyway, it makes my mistakes proud that such experts have taken them seriously!

And you are right Stefan about the wine too, in vino veritas it's been said!

Most wonderful and original idea and off course I never expect anything else from you, Pierre!

Beautiful legs I might add...

Kind regards

First, my apologies for not visiting in a while.

One of your responses to a colleague says it all - "surrealistic."  The perspective and the lighting effects creates what I believe the gestaltists called "cognitive dissonance."  If one scrolls up so that only the subject's lower leg and foot are visible, the proportinality in the photographs appears as one might expect.  However, viewing the entire frame gives a totally different impression.

The tonality and detail are spot on.  I especially like the hightened detail in the foreground.

Outstanding work, Pierre . . .

Pierre, the shadows discussion wasn't a critique. It was my attempt to imitate Sherlock Holmes in finding an answer to Bela's dizziness :-)

I said that the lighting/shadow mystery contributes even more to the appeal of this image making it look even more intriguing. I know that surrealism is not supposed to care about the rules and laws of physics. Between other things, it's what makes it so... surreal. And after more wine, the surreal becomes so... real! Who cares about lights and shadows? What remains are... the legs my friend, the legs, the legs...

Very good surrealistic image which immediately  grabbed my attention, firstly because of the very nice female legs and secondly because of the very fine black and white tonality achieved and  good contrast. Bravo Pierre!!!

I like it. It's fun and obviously a collage, but the elements were well chosen, especially those legs...

Nothing to be ashamed off my friend, not many could produce and present such work, for me as a viewer, I enjoy the final appearance of an image along with its subject and in here we have a very powerful one, with a lot of high skill work done and superb taste to present it in such beautiful manner.

As usual, your creations never fails but always successful and appealing, wishing you all of the best.

For me, I only critique after a nice glass of juicy, bold, jammy red...  for the image, Pierre, it's another piece of fantastic creativity.  I find the message very deep and impressive. It makes you want to see more of the picture, but the title lets you know that there is nothing more should you choose to follow.. just long legs walking away on a bridge that goes absolutely nowhere... wow.. haven't we all felt that way at some time?  Walking on a bridge to nowhere....  thanks for sharing, Pierre!
