The statue of Stokes with the Auditorium in the BG was taken in

Ocean Grove, NJ a small shore community. I believe the Reverand

DR. E. H. Stokes was a cofounder of the community. Your thoughts

and comments are welcome. Thanks for looking.

I like this shot, there is something very dignified and pleasing about the whole scene. I think you have composed this really well. There is a great sense of balance to the image and the path leading in from the right creates a natural route for the viewer to take and enjoy. The Reverend Stokes on his pedestal is a commanding figure, as he sits surveying all before him, whilst the tasteful architecture behind him doesn't look garish or out of place.  Well done Holger!

Best Regards

Alf

Holger, I like the formality of this and as Alf said there is a certain dignity to the demeanor of the statue that adds to the atmosphere of the image. It's good to see you back.

Hi Holger,

Technically, this is a well shot image. This provides an excellent example of how to use a wide lens.

The use of the 17mm setting at F/2.8 provided the very best optical performance from your lens.

The DOF was not compromised because of the working distance used and the short focal length lens employed.

A wonderful scene , composed by several fine structures.

Best Regards,  Mike
