timinich 0 Posted October 11, 2011 Great color, but the picture lacks a subject for the eye to focus on. Link to comment
anna_chapman 0 Posted October 11, 2011 I really love the vivid colours. A very good depiction of autumn. I think there might be just a little too much foreground. It would be nice to see some more of the sky and the layers of hills in the background. Still, this is a good one. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 12, 2011 This is a wonderful landscape capture, remarkable and well balanced exposure value here and so the DOF is very effective and well obtained fine details all over this amazing place, indeed the colors are so vivid while the bridge is adding the feeling of life to this image and well enhancing its composition. Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best. Link to comment
joseph_eiche 1 Posted October 13, 2011 The colors you have captured in this image are quite an amazing representation of fall. This site is well selected from that vantage point and offers a nice sweeping view of this fall landscape. This photo is missing something though, I just can't put my finger on it.I am not sure if you can revisit this site but capturing a setting or rising sun in the frame may solve some of the problem alluded to in the other review which says you are missing a strong subject. From the look of the sky this may be late in the day already and the mountain may hide it.Possibly shifting or moving to the right down that road a little more to allow the highway to lead our eyes out into the distance may also may be an idea to try. Some dramatic clouds may also help with this or a vibrant blue sky to contrast with the reds and yellows thus allowing you to bring the horizon down a bit.Don't mistake me, this is a wonderfully colorful image which is well exposed but there is something missing compositionally here that I can't quite place. It could just be missing the strong subject or maybe a photographer better than I could put his finger on it.Nice landscape photo though, I love the colors. Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted October 14, 2011 I've shot from this exact spot several years ago. It's a great trail! I'm also wondering if the subject (the viaduct) is enough to stand on it's own. I think it could use some local adjustment to brighten it and the foreground cliff face. I also think pulling the red out of the rock and road to get it back to a more neutral hue would help the foliage. As it is, it appears red was added globally when it wasn't needed, making it appear slightly muddy. True, some blue in the sky could help it pop. Still, the colors are so vibrant and the road is a leading line, so I would consider it a success. Very nice! Link to comment
amitai schwartz 0 Posted October 17, 2011 Very nice color. I think the viaduct adds a particularly interesting element. I agree that the reds may be a bit over saturated. I also think the image would benefit if you cropped the top. The sky really doesn't add anything and is distracting inasmuch as it is the lightest part of the image, thus attracting the eye.
