foleydog 0 Posted May 28, 2003 My model was looking for a "Stuff/Maxim" type of picture. This is the result. Link to comment

kezia 0 Posted May 29, 2003 Technically it's fine and I like the way the composition flows through the frame. I think the pose does some weird perspective things - like making her arms look foreshortened, and she's sucking in her stomach as if she were in pain. I personally don't like the idea of the pose either, but if it's what the client wanted then I guess it's okay. Maybe I just don't know what stuff/maxim is. I much prefer some of your other portraits. Link to comment
joe_garrick 0 Posted June 11, 2003 Kezia - Stuff and Maxim are mens magazines. The covers are like - well, they're pretty much like what you see here. It's well toned bodies with heads on top. I agree with the earlier remarks about the torso, she looks like she's sucking it in too hard. I don't know what combination of film, lighting, and photoshop effects combines to give these skin tones, but it works. She definitely has that Stuff bronze goddess look. I think maybe that "sucking it in" look might be reduced by putting the side lighting on her other side, so that the side of the waistline near the camera is in shadow, and (hopefully) that big dimple won't be so prominent. That might allow her to relax a bit without fearing that she's going to look too soft in the midsection. Link to comment
foleydog 0 Posted June 11, 2003 Frankly, the model is wearing shimmery gold flecked 'lotion.' No photoshop -- I do all my printing manually. I think the light, plus the lotion give her a shimmerly, healthy glow . . . Link to comment
