marc_dilley1 0 Posted September 30, 2011 A springtime scene of one of the many basalt coulees of Washington's sagebrush steppe with rock balsamroot in the foreground and the Columbia River in the background. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted October 1, 2011 A wonderful image that looks quite natural - no exaggerated colors and probably very close to what you saw. I also like your composition and the clarity. I suppose one could stay at this location for hours or days to see if any dramatic lighting would develop. On a trip, with limited time, I would come across a scene but was not prepared to wait it out or revisit a few times. I don't know if this was the case with you. In any event, keep up the high quality work I have been seeing from you recently. Link to comment
marc_dilley1 0 Posted October 1, 2011 Thanks Tony. Frenchman Coulee is a place I visit once a week during the season, but not for photography usually. The basalt columns are home to hundreds of high-quality rock climbs. With that crowd there is no time for pictures so I have to make a dedicated photography trip. On a day of broken clouds and light rain it can be quite inspiring. Link to comment
