A springtime scene of one of the many basalt coulees of Washington's sagebrush steppe with rock balsamroot in the foreground and the Columbia River in the background.

A wonderful image that looks quite natural - no exaggerated colors and probably very close to what you saw. I also like your composition and the clarity.  I suppose one could stay at this location for hours or days to see if any dramatic lighting would develop. On a trip, with limited time, I would come across a scene but was not prepared to wait it out or revisit a few times. I don't know if this was the case with you. In any event, keep up the high quality work I have been seeing from you recently.

Thanks Tony.

Frenchman Coulee is a place I visit once a week during the season, but not for photography usually. The basalt columns are home to hundreds of high-quality rock climbs. With that crowd there is no time for pictures so I have to make a dedicated photography trip. On a day of broken clouds and light rain it can be quite inspiring.
