Guest Guest Posted October 2, 2011 If I may . . .I agree with many of the comments in terms of the sharpness, clarity, and b/w conversion. All well done, with good contrast. A well-orchestrated scene, of course orchestrated by your eye and the camera. Technically quite proficient. But . . .I feel everything is handled quite evenly. There's almost too much consistency and so I think the opportunity for more of the story to come out is lost. By emphasizing everything, I think you may have lost a bit here. There are many possibilities. For instance, the young man steering the main boat is getting lost in the shuffle. Perhaps he might have been emphasized somehow. If not, the small boat could show more contrast to the larger one in how it's handled. Or the water could be a bit softer as it's moving. Or the woman standing could have an effective supporting role. My attention is brought as much to the boats as to the bridge, as much to the people as to the houses in the back. So there's not much sense of depth and the plot line is just not really unfolding for me. Everything here is given equal weight and I think it could be a richer photo with more sense of foreground and background, both visually and in terms of plot and sub-plot. Link to comment
