What camera are you using, can you post your exif details?  Thanks!  Reminds me of a stock photo I`ve seen recently.

Canon 10D, macro lens 105mm.  The rest I don't have access too right now as it is in an external hard drive.  If I find it, I'll post it.  I do have the original untouched version there as well.  This was converted in photoshop using a black and white layer adjustment, then given a little texture and a toning.  Almost forgot, I used NIK Software, Color Efex Pro, the darken, lighten center filter to help with the edges.  Hope that helps.  K.

And if you see mine or anyone elses photograph claiming to belong to another, you should let us know.  These photographs on pn are primarily low res images but it won't stop people from stealing them for web use.  K.

Outstanding abstract capture, the lighting here is amazing and of great drama effect, the back light at the middle of the vase is very interesting and adding a great depth to this image while your choice of the b/w format and with such high quality contrast and tone are of great add to the composition here, the sharpness is remarkable and did enhanced the appearance of your work.

Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

Katie, you have done extremely well working with the matriarch of the garden.  this is the one flower that anyone who considers themselves a flower photographer must and usually always does work with. well done!

Katie, you've rendered all your assembly of the elements here to create a powerful image that belongs really big in a gallery or on someone's wall. superb, almost delicious as a flower; certainly scrumptious as a vase; i spy talent ... take a bow! ;-} dp

I 'm not familar with these, NIK Software, Color Efex Pro but the 105 macro rocks.  Never had the opportunity to use one..might look into a 100mm tho.  Nice job, very commercial. However, its commercial aspect reminds me of pictures from the decor department at walmart, the kind they sell framed 'art' for home decor.  But that's not a bad thing, you may be one photographer who generates 'income' :)

Katie,

Wonderful and graceful gesture! The composition of form and surface, and use of contrast are very pleasing. Nice work.

Hi Katie,

I love the colours tones and the way you've cropped the flower to emphasize the beautiful elegant lines of this flower.

Excellent work,

Well done,

Warm regards,

Isabelle
