Jeff,  i would have enjoyed your arial shots more; probably from a lower altitude, i can appreciate what you have done here but i find that i admire your expertise more than the shot

cheers mick

ps a lot of your other work is outstanding

it's a great abstraction, even a impressive one. I do like what you did here Jeff. It's not only the colours that I find apealing but even more so the composition. It works, greatly so.

Thanks for the feedback, folks. I'm glad that you liked the composition. I found composing from a helicopter to be challenging but a lot of fun, particularly when I was faced by such rich colours and patterns.

It´s nice to conclude this series with this marvelous image, although is close to another apparent  piece of crap due to is the same scenery  but this composition it´s really beautiful and different, colors and lights going alternating though the picture and the touch of sun rays as a spot gives a stunning  light in the sand area. For me Jeff, after measure the Ev about  the 2  green water lines, I see the green values are burned, due to this, I have a selection about these areas and decrease a  bit that value without touch nothing more to fix that problem.I hope that this new treatment to try to get better the image will be to your taste.Take care

This is one of your more striking aerials, IMO, because of the rich and varied colors as well as that bit of intricate pattern in the center amidst the relative smooth patterns of the other elements.  One minor note from my perspective: that bit of detail at the very top edge on the right half is just slightly distracting and "out of character," and cropping just below the white (done by scrolling up on the screen) enhances the photo IMO.

A comment about the altitude:  I think the relatively high altitude (and/or a relatively wide lens) contributes much to the abstract nature of this series, and I think many people appreciate that aspect of the photos.  It also allows a greater variety of striking shapes and colors, which further contributes to the appeal.  I can imagine a telephoto zooming in on that central portion, and the loss of the surrounding shapes and colors would diminish the photograph (again, IMO).

Mario, many thanks for doing that. I have been preparing 26 of these for a company that sells them for offices etc. I have cloned out thousands of blown wave tops and geese. I haven't done any work on individual channels. As long as I had one channel that wasn't blown, I left it.

I like what you have done. I'll work on it when I get home again.

Thanks again.

Steve, thanks. I see what you mean about the top. I hadn't picked it but it is obvious now.

My original intention was to use the 100 for the lightness, speed and to reduce any temptation to fiddle. On the day, I used the 35-90. I think that almost all of them were done at 90. I didn't want the distraction of zooming once we started. I saw compositions as they presented themselves and fired. There wasn't a lot of meditative contemplation possible. Funnily enough, I took about half the number of shots of any of the others.

Jeff the implied movement in this one is realy good, what i mean by that is the the lines sweeping around to me imply movement. Ill contradict myself a little here and say (i never say it about your images) but a little more saturation might lift it a little, all in all a great compliment to an outstanding folio.

It is a beautiful abstract The color palette and  the motion has a real nice dynamics.I like as well the details, it looks like sand, sea, sort of vegetation, simply open for imagination. very well done.
