julius_zoilos 0 Posted September 20, 2011 It may look like I'm just spouting out and adding nothing useful here but. I'm not sure enough about this shot to say whether I really like it or not. It's Istanbul, so as a fan of the place I'm bound in a way to say 'yeah, great shot'. So here goes. Why I like it.It shows the city from a slightly different angle. You've got, and please correct me if I'm wrong here, the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya and the Fire Tower of Beyazid. You see plenty of shots of those, yes, but not from an angle quite like this. You've got a number of different 'planes of view'. You've got an interesting foreground with the sea, then you have the dockside standing out in silohette (apologies for spelling), then a very faint levelof the cityscape below the horizon and finally the horizon itself. I do like the colour of the sky. Great timing of the shot so at what hour was it taken? It me it looks like very early or quite late. Now let's try to think of the cons and how could the shot be improved. You could say that the details of the shot are a bit too dark it would be nice to have some finer detail in, for example the area of the city below the horizon. But I don't think that's enough to mark it down. Maybe not quite so much of the sky. So on the whole I'd say I can see more pro's than con's. Therefore, good shot. Link to comment
