Something a little different from you, Lars. I'm not used to seeing people in your pictures nowadays, much less a group of nuns. But you've caught that moment of initial reaction where we see the person revealed (especially the sister on the left who seems as stern as some of the nuns I had at Star of the Sea grammar school). I think Cartier-Bresson would have liked this picture. with its strong contrasts, tight grouping and very human emotions.

Great technical quality among other (and that other is most important), especially considering the circumstances, relatively low available light! The other is great capture from ambush, surprising them and capture them is the best way to make something interesting in the life photography! Ha!

Best regards Lars!

Lars,

The timing for this type of shot is crucial and you' ve got it right and there is always more tension with black and white which again adds impact.  Nuns are always interesting as subjects and like a punch, you' ve managed to get the sudden disturbance and intrusion on their faces.  I think the viewer is almost gripped with guilt if no exaggeration. Congratulation! real nice shot.

B&W indeed enhances the impact of tension and emotions present in your photo, I believe too (& this in addition to the perfect rendering of their habits of course).  Very nicely square-framed composition.  I particularly like the simultaneity of the poses of the nuns in the FG, against that of the frontally viewed nun. Real emotions and priceless expressions -- Keen eye, Lars..!
