This covered bridge has been a fixture in my whole life. I remember riding

with my parents across this Indiana landmark. The bridge is no longer in

use and is cared for by the Indiana Parks division.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment.

Best regards, Tracy

Hello Tracy, I like the subject and composition but on my monitor anyway the bridge and background seem rather flat and overexposed. I think the image would be helped by adding some contrast and by bringing down the exposure a little as well.

Thanks Marc,

I have two versions of this, one with more saturation and this one. They are the same HDR file and I was a little burnt out and had to leave for work. The color of the bridge, I feel, looks closer to life. I will take another look when I get home after work and try your suggestions.

Thanks for your comment,

Tracy

Maybe the camera should have been shifted to the left, but never mind, it is also good as it is, warm, likable, pleasant and with a very nice mood!

I don't rate because don't want to be involved in such an unjust low rating!

Best regards Tracy!

Great perspective and sharpness. The image has been optimised for viewing large, which becomes immediately apparent from the moment it opens up and comes to life! I'm always fascinated by these structures, we don't have covered bridges like this in the UK and leads me to my question (forgive my ignorance) but why were they covered in the first place?

Best Regards

Alf

I have been told that it was to keep the horses from being spooked when they had to cross. I am not sure of this tale, I would also think that in inclement weather it would afford shelter to the weary travelers.

Thanks for your kind words and best wishes in the UK.

Hi Tracy,  I like your edited version better, but that is only my opinion.  It is a very nice composition either way and a pleasant scene and story that you have shared with us.  thanks

Great scenery and capture. Like the soft light in the back. The overexposed rooftop doesnt bother me. Theres a beautiful mood to this picture. Maybe some of the brown leaves on the left could be cloned away? anyways good shot. Thanks for sharing!
