lalit 0 Posted September 4, 2011 Soft evening light falling on this bright tree with thick Sal forest in the background. Striking contrast got me into capturing this. Most important was how to avoid 6 to 8 feet tall grass and to keep it simple. Fully extended tripod in the Safari jeep was the only solution. Thanks for your critiques and comments. Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted September 4, 2011 I can see the appeal and what led you to capture this magnificent tree. The stark bare branches against the more colourful vegetation stands out well, and I like the central composition with the branches filling the frame. And of course you must be congratulated for the thinking of setting the tripod up on the Jeep.......I imagine my car would have a few dents in the roof : - )Best RegardsAlf Link to comment
stp 6 Posted September 5, 2011 Solitary trees are a favorite of mine, and this has a great form and background to set it apart. I can imagine the grasses around the base of the tree, and from my photographer's chair in front of a monitor I would think that would be a good element to include. Viewers often like to see where a tree like this connects to the earth, and showing some small portion of the grasses around the base might be effective (of course, you were there while I wasn't, so I'm exceedingly cautious in this suggestion).
