Welcome to PN Noel.  You have a beautiful photo here. I like the colors and the mood you captured.  The diagonal line created by the water edge adds an element of dynamic in this composition.  The reflection is also beautiful.  For my taste i would ad a bit more contrast to this image to make the mountain pop against the sky and the snow. The line of tree along the river would also benefit from a bit more contrast to separate them from the background. I took the liberty of playing with your image in CS5 and Topaz adjust, i hope you dont mind, i dont claim my version is better than yours just different to illustrate my point. At the end it's all a matter of taste and artistic vision.  Nice image - regards - michel

Hi, all.

Actually the original version much better fits to my taste, adding to much contrast causes loss of naturalness.

Michel, thanks for sharing your point of view, it's always interesting to learn what are preferences of other photographers... :-)

Regards.

Noel,   I too prefer the softer look of your original.  Yet, Like Michael, I often go for the more contrasty images that pop.  You are fortunate to have been at Yosemite in winter.  You have a winner here.   Congratulations.    Regards.

Thank you everyone for our kind words and appreciation. Michel, your recommendations for tweaking contrast definitely made the foreground "pop". While I agree with both Jack and Larry with regards to the natural-ness of the image, I think some tweaking for clarity is certainly useful.

Very help comments everyone! Thank you for welcoming the newbie :-)
