These are quite ordinairy flowers but I isolated them with the macro lens

and bounced flash to create even lighting. Afterwards ran them through

PS to increase color, added vignetting and added the purple color shift

in the background.

Did I succeed in giving creating an appealing image?

The background color matching with the petals on the flower makes for a very apealing subdued image that does not overwhelm, very original. Not your typical boring flower picture

Nice colors and light.  Your background color works very well with the flower and the light is really nice and soft.  My only comment with this image is that your focal plane is on the green buds, and the details there are interesting but it is the petals you are trying to showcase with your background.  I would have considered a wider DOF with the focal point on the flower to try to capture as much as possible of the petals.  It is still a very appealing image though.
