There are, to my eye, as many great parts to this photo as there are photographer errors.

The very best part - the lovely girl's direct eye contact with your camera lens. It doesn't get better than this.

The young man's expression and the direction of his gaze don't make sense to me when coupled with the girl's direct gaze and lovely closed-mouth smile.

The errors might have been avoided. I would definitely have chopped off (physically, with my nimble fingers) the blades of grass interrupting the romantic flow and energy of this capture. If I could, I would have "offed" the blossom to the right as well. It's a major distraction.

But at the end of the day, it's a lovely photo - mistakes and all. I'd be proud to have it in my portfolio.

And I'd try harder next time to pay attention to all those pesky details that detract from the main theme.

Cheers ~

Great image first of all.  I like the DOF, but the subject of the image is the couple, not the girl.  The boy is out of focus and puts most of the attention on the girl.  I like her expression and contact with the camera.  The blade of grass that is bowed in front and the one going up into the girls hair should have been taken out before snapping the photo.  The flower in front of the boy does not bother me, I like it there and out of focus.  Would not belong if it were in focus.  Best regards...Brent

.......... both Alberta and Brent have given sound advice here that you would do well to heed.

I too, like the image but agree with the likes/dislikes of the others. Foreground, like background, can make or break an image and when you have the opportunity to clear some debris before the shoot.... do it.

Congrats on the clarity of the young lady.... the eye contact and gentle smile take ones "eye"  right to her...... everything else becomes surperfluous, but not what you intended - right?

Well done though........ a good shot for your portfolio.

Regards
