I love how the image in the reflection is not her's but seems to be looking toward her.

the tree at the bottom is a distraction. doesnt say much .you only show the back of the girls head. can you please explain to me doanna what this photo means to you... why did you take it. i like to understand the intentiions  of  the phorographer before they post their photos if you dont mind me asking of course. thank you . polo

Polo, abstract art compels us to perceive imaginatively with senses beyond our ordinary; different from realism, abstract is something else. life is complex and varied ;-} dp

The festivity of Christmas seems to me to be the underlying theme in this evocative capture. 'Festive' mood suggested by the woman's sun-like top and Christmas suggeted by the tree. Window refections indeed capture much of the complexity of life, lived in layers.

ABSTRACT? for my vision the only abstract thing about this photo is calling it an abstract? we can pretend that something is art when it is clearly something else other than that and we can lie and say phouttos are good  even when they go against all common sense and  rules  but this not abstract «««««Donna.  i gave it a 3 because that is all i think it merits based on content and artist value..... thank polo

Alon... my intent was to be "interesting", so i'm thrilled; Pierre, when you say "art" you mean ART, so grazie sweet Pierre; Sveta, grazie your attention and enthusiasm for this; Doug, your insight always illuminates; deb and Bettie, inspirations that you are, i'm so thrilled that you offered fascinating, unique, and believable interpretations.  ;-} dp

Yes, nice fragments of  reality combined with nature, street PR, reflections of self portrait, ?( not so sure about it)  and even flowery fashion...It is as well a nice execution as the strong flowery figure still connects to the blurry BG. Good  imaginative work!

misters dijourno & greyson... these attached are examples of 'abstract art' by Pablo Picasso and Marc Chegall respectively; both painters experimented with many styles of 'abstract art', and both are profoundly influential on much contemporary art, which is why i'm experimenting with 'abstraction' in photography. trust me that you both are not alone in your feelings about art that challenges realism. dp

Gio... i'm so glad you shared this image with me.

Pnina, grazie much... yours, deb's, and Bettie's interpretations are delightfully unique (which you know is the intent of an image like this), and i'm so excited that you visited. Pnina, i do recall your abstracts, which your 'Transitory' image is connected to; yours is a very emotional series that i return to view ;-} dp

I love images of reflections and always find them so interesting in the way they are so engaging to one's imagination. To me, the woman's photo in the window seems to be looking over the girl outside...perhaps protecting her, or calling to her... relating to her...and she is drawn to her, returning the gaze; it is a solidarity of sorts. The bright colors on her shirt create a line with the bright pop of color in the upper corner. Interesting photo Donna; thank you for sharing. :)

grazie so much, Trisha, your insight about how abstracts engage the imagination; well said, and i agree with you very much... and i luv your interpretation. it's been a joy for me to imagine all of these wonderful interpretations with all of you folks about this image, which is the reason i made the image... to share imaginations. so glad for your visit ;-} dp

I too like the intriguing play of reflections, Donna. There seems to be an interaction between the girl in the ad and the real girl, one only sees from behind. I like the way the ( especially the bright) colors are balanced in your photo -- wonder a bit about a slight possible crop ( from the bottom), as well as a tiny tilt to the L,  to further enhance a sense of balance in those colors -- But = a personal view; I already like it as is. (Yes, = me and my cropping again :-)

glad this grabbed you, Mar, assuring me that crop is a serious issue in this otherwise experimental piece. the composition is everything in a piece like this. do you feel that the tree is her hair, i wonder? my feeling is that her mirrored fragments split her into a variety of dimensions and interests in her life ;-} dp
