jerrymat 5 Posted July 28, 2011 Bjorn, Mrs. L. looks a lot like my fifth grade teacher in 1949-50. I see a similar look of truly caring about someone in her face and the look of understanding in her eyes. She is looking at me as though I had just made a big excuse for not having my homework done and she has caught me in the lie but still cares about my growth and development as a human being. That is a lot of information to portray in a portrait. Congratulations.Her face is well lighted by the apparently single light source you used, but her hand is too bright, losing definition in the highlight. At the same time her hair is lost in the dark background. Perhaps it is time to add a second light source or a reflector to your bag of photographic tricks.
