Truly spectacular, they almost look like stone statues placed in the grass.  This is such an outstanding moment.  It's hard to imagine a better wildlife image, you must have been thrilled to be there and get it.  You have several excellent images of these beasts squaring off, but to me this one transcends the rest.  Congratulations, great, great work.

A great shot taken at the right moment.  The only tiny thing I would change is the grass. Just a bit darker makes it stand out more against the background, enhancing the depth.

cheers, hans

Thanks You all for Your comments!

I must say this was not an easy task. In the last 2 years I've tried many times to capture such images with alpine ibex in action.

Alpine ibex photos?! No problem. Action alpine ibex?! Well, this is a problem. I have only a 70-200 Lens (this was taken with it + Canon 5D Mark II) and I have to come really near.

It works ... with patience and many attempts.

Well worth the effort!  And, while you are forced to be close, you get the most enjoyable experience of _being_ close.  Good for you!!!

Marius, in this battle, you are the winner. You deserve highest rating for such superb composition, very good exposure, and colour-contrast. Admirable perspective and timing.

Thank You Jake!

Unfortunatelly I have very little time (including Facebook) and for now I must decline Your invitation to join Your Page. Maybe someday in the future?! Who knows ... but anyway, thanks.
