The poor little beast...

Call 911 !

or

112 !

or whatever !

I'll quote you, Pierre: "Dear Bobby, the spiders don't belong to the reptiles, they are insects"

You're almost correct: they are far from reptiles but they are not insects. They are arahnide and they are different from insects:

- 8 legs instead of 6

- body in two parts instead of three

...

Details ;)

As I'm a scorpion, in the same biological class, I could not just pass through it :)

Very well observed, mon Tres Cher Ami !

Congrats !

Poor guy! Beautifully de-composed. I admire your scientific interest :) And Florin is right, they are not insects. Warm regards

This looks like the same spider from "Encounter of the Forth Kind", or "Only a Spider".  Only more dead.  One thing I know about your art, it's often digitally altered.  My gut tells me this is no exception, but...

Hi Pierre,

An excellent nature portrait.  I might actually feel sorry for the little guy were I not absolutely terrified of large spiders and had I not been chased by a spider just like this one one night in the Moroccan Sahara.  Then my travel-mates and me turned the tables and chased one of them in Namibia before it got irritated and chased us.  The long and the short of it is the fact that large, hairy spiders scare the crap out of me.  But a picture like this allows even me to truly appreciate the patterned beauty of such a creature and feel sorry for one in pain.  Not an easy task, very well handled and presented on your part.  Bravo!

Cheers,

Cory Sine

"I swear I didn't do it,"   and  who did it? It's guarding of  his own leg, waiting to the ambulance  to reattach it? I wonder if  it  can  re-grown.  The composition is  perfect for a story. Interesting  find  and well photographed.

Cheers  to you,  Pierre.
