Sharp where it needs to be and soft where it should be.  I like the pose and the expression of anticipation.  The toning works well.  Given that the rest of the dog is in the frame I would have liked to see the tip of the hind foot included. A slight increase in the brightness of the left eye would also help us to see into that eye and add a bit more personality and balance. As stands the eye is a tad too dark, perhaps a touch of dodging could bring out more detail. A wonderful portrait!
