Brent, yes, it's centered, but with a lens of 34mm and holding my camera in my hands pretending not to do that (it shouldn't be obvious that I'm shooting myself with my hands stretched) and with the necessity of fill in flash (if I was aside the flash couldn't catch me)  what else could I do?!

Though I miss my friend's Phrygian cap and risen eye-brow I have to admit the righteous general enthousiasm about this self-portrait. The "addition" of the epaulette is the touch I like the same as the penetrating  gaze! My best! Chris

Pierre, this is a very nice portrait, but the serious expression is a bit surprising. The epaulette is a nice touch.   

Captain on the bridge! Mon capitaine, with a portrait like this, you can easily be a salesperson ( politically correct name, nowadays) for any product or service related to bearded men: fishing boats, pipe smoking, quazi-intelectual criticism, French court innuendos, hopeless tenors in opera buffa,... Hey, how about submarine captain dinner while your Red October submarine is being hunted by villain members of the photo.net? Great photo!
