Still scanning 35mm slides taken years ago. Personally, I like these views

of Rainier that reveal only subtle details on the shadow side, especially in

the layer of fog that covers the valley. I sense that most viewers don't

agree and don't find much interest in this kind of photo (I have several

variations currently posted). It would help me immensely if you would

provide your perspective -- I really do want to understand it better. A lack

of comments does tell me something, but specific comments are so much

more informative. Thanks.

Stephen, this is my favourite of the three. It has to be viewed large to be fully appreciated. I like the backlit cloud or snow moving fast over Mt. Rainier and the  layers of fog with interesting hues - I am not sure - I never witnessed this kind of scene in person - perhaps not exactly how you saw them but as film recorded them. There is something special, and the feeling of the mountain's majesty is best expressed here when it is shown blocking the sun already quite high and soaring above the sea of low lying clouds. It is good that there is little details in the mountain, more would probably diminish the robustness of the mountain by providing a hint of scale. Best regards. Peter
