You are off to a good start, as this is a nice wide angle image.

I did not see if you used a filter (not in the details) , but often a UV or Haze filter reduces the scatter from a distance subject.

You probably can manage the higher exposed region (white cloud band) in software. otherwise the remaining scene is exposed well.
