dejansmaic 0 Posted June 20, 2011 "Shining". This is an image taken during sunrise at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The Bonneville Salt Flats is a large salt pan deposited by an intermittent playa lake in western Utah and can range in thickness from an inch near the edges to 5 feet at the center. The salt flats are comprised of approximately 90% "table salt". I was trying to make Arches for a sunrise, but a long evening driving got the best of me. The salt flats seemed like a alternative I should explore. So, I stopped and napped along the roadway around 0230 hrs until I got zapped by a flash light from a Utah State Trooper before sunrise...good thing. He was just checking to make sure I was not an escapee from local state prison, or something. :-) We chatted about photography and the salt flats. This image is comprised of 3 images shot at different focal points at f/16 for optimal sharpness, then aligned & auto blended in CS5 for sharpness across the board / final image. papasan 0 Posted June 21, 2011 Superb image Dejan. I 'm getting more and more interested in this concept of focus stacking, i need to try this sometime. It really has done a good job here of extending your DOF to the full frame. Nice colors and light, and nice composition. I like how the lines in the flats meander through the frame leading the eye to the horizon and the silhouetted hills. Great work - michel Link to comment
sankha 0 Posted October 26, 2012 Very nice work. I would never think of focus stacking here, but now I know that it can produce such beautiful pictures. Link to comment
