Although I like your composition here, there are a couple of things I think you could make better. First, it looks like the sun was still fairly high in the sky and it gave you some unattractive shadows in the bark. The green leafy area in the lower left is a little distracting, maybe if you could have moved the camera viewpoint just a little to the right...but these things are not always possible to do.

Good composition, like I said, and good use of the sky color to provide the pattern among the trees.

I like the color and light angle a lot. It is an imaginative composition. It would be difficult to improve imo, but possibly some detail in the shadowed areas could be brought out without diminishing the effect of their being shadows. In Photoshop, there's a shadows/highlights tool that allows you selectively to brighten areas in deep shadow without affecting areas in highlight at all. Another option would be HDR. That said, I'm not sure the result would be an improvement--I'd have to try it to see. Nice work!
