The very nice soft, caressing light, the slightly blurred, dark background make a quite poetic image.

Another fantastic shot. You're truly a master of floral photography. Congrats. All the best, Beth

Sarah,

This certainly is a nice image to view.

My suggestion would be to include the details as to what camera /lens and setting were used to produce it.

I visited your portfolio and you have many nice images. However, the details indicate Unknown for all of them.

Regards,  Mike

Hi Claude, Beth, Pierre and Mike.

Many thanks for your positive feedback on this.

Mike, you have a valid point including equipment and settings used to produce images. A lot of my flower images have been spur of the moment and mostly taken from my garden.  The camera I use is a Canon 450D with Canon 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM usually used with 200 ISO although sometimes I still switch back to my standard canon lens - 18-55mm which I used for this shot! This is a area I still have a lot to learn from and noticed that you use some fantastic camera equipment for your images and have produced great results.

Best regards. Sarah.

This is interesting and of course very beautiful, but the single petal peeling off to the left strikes me as unusual and therefore makes for an original composition on what must be one of the most photographed flowers. There is a lovely soft light and subtle tones and textures that also make this very special. Very well done Sarah!

Best Regards

Alf

Hi Alf,

Thanks for stopping by and you hit the nail on the head when it comes to photographing roses. I haven't got many rose images in my portfolio beacuse it's difficult (for me anyway) to come up with something different that hasn't been done already! Pleased you liked this version though. Always great to get your feedback.

All the best. Sarah.

I like how you've managed the focus, sharpening the flower itself and throwing the leaves slightly out of focus to avoid competing with the main attraction.
