Mount Hood, moonset and wildflowers from Washington's Columbia Hills.

The image was made at 120mm focal length using DOF blending/correction

techniques to ensure sharp focus throughout.

Outstanding! The composition is very nice and the colors are very beautiful. This image communicates directly with the soul.

One of the best nature photography I've never seen. Of course there are stupid low rater bugs. The new rules, removing the anonymous rates,  don't keep these people away from this site.

I recently had the opportunity to photograph Mt Hood and pear orchards.  I was pretty well pleased.  After seeing your image I'll just shut up and enjoy the beauty of your work.  Absolutely stunning shot.  Congratulations.

Mark,

Absolutely brilliant.  Gallery shot all the way.  I love the sky, the pastels, the composition is awesome, the flowers beautiful.  Excellent job.

Hi Marc, I see your photos here on PN since few years and I think they are all good. I don't have any criticism for any of them but I would like to have your view for a point if you don't mind... What is your opinion about the white balance ? Does it have to be thought as a result of an artistic choice of the photographer and not to discuss or the natural colours of the nature on that moment have to stay as natural as possible. Of course, there are different light conditions which can effect the subjects of the scene or even the whole scene. So again, is it the result of the artistic choice of the photographer, to decide the level of this effect? I know some nature photographers are very strict about to get the natural colours but some very known landscape photographers think that it limits your creativity and therefore your efficiency. Does it effect the choice of the customers if we think the business side of it. Thank you...

Hi Kani, my artist's statement on my website has a section called "Photoshop in Today's Age" that talks about my artistic decisions in great detail.  It answers your question and probably offers more insight into my study of artistic philosophy.

Marc,

A beautiful and interesting image indeed. It must have been difficult to bring everything into focus at that focal length. I imagine you used (at least) two images for DOF blend: one for the far field and another (or more) for the near field (the flower bed). The lack of mid-field in this composition would make this blend easier; however, not easy as the transition between the top flowers and the mountain background is very intricate and I imagine difficult to isolate. The conditions at the moment would had determined if more than one shot was necessary to bring the whole flower field into focus. You also did bring the whole composition into a balanced exposure.

Excellent work! Congrats,

Papa

I can't really critique it--you're a master! I can admire the photo, though. This is very, very nice Mr. Adamus!
