matussik 0 Posted May 15, 2011 I love the mood of this photograph. The simplicity of both the composition and the contrast with only the bright chapel standing out in front of a dull and dark background and sky makes this shot to a successful image IMO. The only concern I have is that the chapel is leaning to the left. Kind regards, Jan Link to comment
alexdumitru 1 Posted May 15, 2011 Great view, lots of story and contrasting themes - small / big, light / dark, clear / foggy...Straightening the chappel and adjusting the levels to bring out the whites and the details in the foreground could slightly improve the view. Link to comment
AlainD 0 Posted May 15, 2011 Thanks to all of you for your nice comments, and a special thanks to Jan and Alex for your suggestions! I'll try to improve the image right now and post the new version later. Link to comment
sagacioustechie 0 Posted May 15, 2011 I absolutely love everything about this shot Alain. The composition is very strong and the contrast between the mist and the church is very powerful. The geometric shape of the buildings stands in stark opposition to the natural forms of the hill, mountains, and mist behind the building. Even the colors b/w the buildings and environment are in opposition. A very fascinating and beautiful work of art. Keep it up!Best regards,Stan. Link to comment

bobby_ho 0 Posted May 16, 2011 This is a great piece of fine art work! Simple composition and nice contrast. The use of sepia toning is creative and effective. Link to comment
corbin 0 Posted May 16, 2011 Beautiful processing, it sets the mood of isolation and enhances the contrast between the stark and gloomy landscape, and the bright chapel on the hill. Link to comment

stp 6 Posted February 9, 2013 I really like contrasting elements in a landscape photograph, and you have it in spades here. A bright, white, angular church contrasted with a foggy, dull, gray, undulating landscape; one place devoted at least in part to the soul and the other to the reality of present-day life. It's a wonderful photograph, something I looked for when I was in Iceland, but I was not successful in finding anything this appealing. Link to comment
