Coming at you -DUCrit-7703

A rider during a mid day race taking a sharp bend through one of three

round abouts during the DU Crit at City Park in Denver, Colorado. I used a

slower shutter speed & flash to give the sense of speed of the rider in the

foreground. Comments are welcomed!

Dejan, this image works! Dynamic, gives the viewer a sense of presence and fast paced action while maintaining clarity and color. Especially effective use of flash to highlight the main subject, ever so slightly pulling the rider out of the background and surroundings. Doesn't get much better outside of a studio. Only element that is distracting is the outside rider (nothing you can do about that in a race situation), thinking intensive post work to make the image more saleable in stock for advertising :)  Great job.

Well chosen standing place and wide lens, I'm not sure that the combination 1/80 sec and f/22 was a best choice for DOF isn't necessary here and a faster shutter speed obviously was! For I think that if the front man was razor sharp (or at least sharper) and all around blurred (out of focus) would be still a great solution!

Pierre, I kept the DOF at f/22 so I could keep the shutter speed at 1/80.  I stayed between 1/80 & 1/125 sec.
