Evening Star was built in 1960 and served for less than ten years.

This class of locomotives was designed for heavy freight work hence

the ten relatively small driving wheels which gave the engine more

grip on the rails. It was the last steam loco to be built for British

Rail and the only one of its class to receive a name.

The photo is a standard shot of the locomotive. It gives a classic view to show the wheels and structure. As such, its fine.

Is this artistic? No. You could have gotten close with a wide angle lens setting ... and bent down for a low angle shot. You could have climbed the stairs and gotten some nice shots ... etc. etc.

This is a standard informational stock shot. Very nice but not the kind of thing that requires a critique.

Hi Rafi

I take your point. I guess it is just a stock image but it is a very special locomotive and this makes it just a bit special to me. I've posted another view which I hope you find more interesting.

Thanks for your time.

Regards Bill
