mcgphotography 0 Posted May 10, 2011 (was this a found moment or was it staged?) My only suggestion is have her looking into that empty space to give the photo a better flow. So either turn the model the other direction if it was staged or if it was found just have her on the right hand side of the photo. Link to comment
ray.koushik 0 Posted May 10, 2011 Thank you, Mark. This was not staged. she was just walking that way. I agree that if she was on the other side of the frame it would have been more conventional. But that would require a different title :-). -koushik Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 304 Posted May 10, 2011 You said that in the tittle, I didn't Koushik, ha!Warm regards!PDE Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted May 10, 2011 one of the finest and most fitting captions i've encountered in a long time!...for me the composition not only works, it rocks! ...there's an insouciance about it that charms... excellent cropping, Koushik. Link to comment
mcgphotography 0 Posted May 10, 2011 I really have to start reading titles before I comment haha, I see what you were going for now :p Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted May 12, 2011 Your title almost demands time travel, back a few seconds when she was compliant. I love the her smile remains as she wanders away. The color of her coat and scarf plays off of her tanned skin. I also like the wood frame. Link to comment
vs1 0 Posted May 19, 2011 K. I like ithe photo. Indeed breaking rules can give us more pleasure. And yes. The smile is a main point in the photo. Regards, VS Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted May 19, 2011 Koushik, very sorry for my late response. I was less active in pn for past fortnight. Admirable and different portrait altogether. Caption is in concert with the image. Though you have not planned this shot, it has come out well due to framing, very good colour-contrast and her natural smile. The wrinkles on her face, adds charm to this lady. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 19, 2011 A great title and as for the subject herself, she is certainly as strong and attractive a woman as any portrait photographer could desire. If she does ever sit for you, make sure she's wearing that red coat. Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted May 19, 2011 Great title and capture, I'm thinking maybe she was shy and you pointing the camera made her turn away, but the wry smile and that red coat as Jack mentions, more than makes up for the movement away from the frame. Natural and uncontrived .........just how I like them!Best RegardsAlf Link to comment
drkallol 0 Posted May 25, 2011 Title is well fitted with the shot.Very nicely presented. My best regards.Kallol Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted May 25, 2011 Great composition and title! Time propels her forward with play of focus from portrait to what she smiles and looks at... walks towards and remains off screen, out of her eyesight. Plain head covering acts as a foil to her pretty face, delicate earrings, just like her fancy button on the coat and what the white wall would have been (and loosely still is a backdrop to her, a showcase of her beauty). Excellent colors Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted May 27, 2011 Good interpretation and initial capture as well. Compliments! Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted June 6, 2011 Appropriate title. It appears that your violation of the rule (excuse me, the application of your artistic license) prohibiting subjects leaving the frame has created some tension in the crowd which has viewed this one before my comment. Actually it is that very tension which elevates this from the ordinary candid. And, seeing your subject's attempt to suppress a smile, I think your cover is blown. You're busted! Best, LM. ray.koushik 0 Posted June 7, 2011 Thank you all for your kind and interesting comments. Len, there was a whole crowd around taking pictures. I don't think she noticed me in the crowd :-) I like your interpretation, though. -koushik Link to comment
