Happy Mother's Day!! Just a quick photo to share of my own special

son and wife to commemorate this day! Not entirely sure of the

composition...any thoughts?

I'm amazed with the technical quality and with the sincerity of this beautiful candid shot! At ISO 800 such a smooth picture, so wide range of wonderful B&W tones and such a sharpness! Among other, great advertisement for your superb D90 Ellery!

Warm regards!

agree with the earlier comments - this is a super casual portrait! ...their delighted expressions contribute a lot, of course, but the quality of the camerawork and the processing are also top notch... i have only one suggestion - a 4:3 crop like the upload

Damn it pierre..lol...I for sure did shoot at ISO 800 - D90+ my 50mm f1.8 - I had the damn thing on iso 800 earlier indoors for lower light....saw this HUGE open windowed area in the Birmingham, AL airport (my local airport) and just had to stop there for a natural light portrait...could have EASILY shot at ISO 200, but I did not notice that I still had it on 800 errrr...you can notice just a bit of softening of detail when you look at this photo in larger view originally...otherwise it would have been f'n TACK sharp for a bigger print....oh well...but indeed I have been very impressed with the D90 at ISO 800 for my low light stuff.....thanks everyone for the lovely comments! PS - I did a VERY quick PS elements job on my wifes "dark rings" around her eyes...just selected her cheecks and brushed in a bit below the eyes at 5% opacity - I think I can see an obvious spot on her right eye there below it that I worked on.....will need to practice this tequnique much more I think.

Ellery...  Well, it's a good thing you have such wonderful subjects if you're going to be so forgetful! ;-)   Your wife is always so pleasant, but the expression on your baby's face is priceless.  A beautiful double portrait... Mike

Fabulous portrait - great smiles by everyone. I like the side lighting and the fact that you positioned yourself and your family so that your wife's head blocks the bright light at the rear. While the background can be as important as the subject (and you can study this one) but in the end the subject is the most important aspect and you covered that exceedingly well.

All the best
