DawsonPointers 362 Posted May 8, 2011 Hi Andrew:I have learned a lot from your work because of the mastery of space. How you position a model in the frame really distinguishes your work, IMHO. I am a fan and I hope that you take this in that context. Your latest posts to PN have been taken out of the studio. The background is dominating and the subject is usually centered. The model does not 'own' the frame but is just a piece of it. If they are landscape photos, the model is a distraction.I can imagine how these images would look if they were cropped, but I'm sure that's not what you would want to do.For example, I can't see how the hill on the right adds to this photo. She sits dead center. Please take this as criticism meant to be only constructive from someone who does not deserve the right to offer it and who will continue to be a fan.Regards, John Link to comment
andrzejp 7 Posted May 8, 2011 John,Everybody is entitle to their opinion and I value yours.Sometimes I feel that a different crop works for me. This background is so overwhelming that I wanted to add a bit more weight to the model and show some of the vast space of the desert.I made another crop. I am sure that you would like it, but it is all about the model. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted May 9, 2011 The possibility that the model is a distraction to the landscape is an interesting one. Personally, I think every landscape should have a nude in it. As for her being ancient. I don't think she looks that old. Link to comment
andrzejp 7 Posted May 9, 2011 David,She is 2200 y old; she is well preserved by the desert environment.I totally agre that every landskape should have a nude in it.I like you sense of humor a lot.Andrew Link to comment
wmc718 3 Posted May 9, 2011 Well, for my two cents, I have to agree with David. A landscape with a female nude in it... the two most beautiful things God created! Link to comment
