Very attractive. The transparency of the cloud, its size and shape has transformed what would otherwise have been a rather bland bit of hillside. The conversion to B&W is excellent. Deep blacks and silky whites. So since a 4X5 was available why wasn't a fine grain B&W sheet slotted in? Or is this a case of only Velvia being available at the time since you were looking to focus on colour landscape.

Phil, you are right. I did have my tmax 100 with me, but I was taken by the spring colors and was not thinking bw.

Tonality very good for color conversion to B&W. Would it have been improved if used t-max?

The clouds have definitely made this image a success. I also like the slight glow near the top left edge of the hill. Contrast is strong enough to deliver the message.

I also have a question about the branches of the tree on the lower right that were allowed to "break" the flow of the hill slope. Was that for any particular composition genre you had in mind?

Concerning your question about the tree to the left...I was intrigued by the shapes of tree trunks and their movement toward the sky. So breaking the rigdge line accentuates that upward movement. Thanks.

Shows that Velvia film makes a great black and white image.
