Winter Tranquility

This is an image I just reprocessed specifically for canvas. It's one of my

all time favorite images. It was taken in 2006 while snow camping in the

Mt. Hood wilderness. It was one of the most peaceful and memorable

moments of my life. It was -10 degrees and I had just weathered 3 days

of storms, but on this morning there was no wind and it was absolutely

silent.

I love nothing more from nature photography than a white-blanketed scene with snow-coated pines like this. Especially when catching and reflecting the colors of twilight. Great backstory too - this stands out even amidst your other works.

Outstanding photo.  The crystal texture of the snow and the reflected colors convey a very still, peaceful mood.

One can really feel the cold and quietness just by looking at the picture. Technically, I like the nice pastel hues and also the panoramic crop of the image. Overall, a very nicely balanced shot. Well done!
