vs1 0 Posted April 13, 2011 Your favourite spot. This one's full of contrasts Sitting man vs runner, Light vs shadows. Compositionaly works really well but I miss only left shadow in full. What to say dear El. You have The Eye. All the best, Vukasin Link to comment
llgarcia 1 Posted April 13, 2011 Long shadows, beautiful contrasts, different perspective - great photo! Regards, El Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted April 13, 2011 Back here again, I see. But, seriously, just HOW do you know these are not just two strange shadows passing without even looking at each other? Link to comment

gladys_waite 0 Posted April 14, 2011 dark vs light; action vs tranquility; youth vs aged; concrete vs water. Yes they can all coexist especially in a beautiful image like this. Link to comment

tonyfrench 0 Posted April 14, 2011 El, The composition of this is quite wonderful with the variety of lines and shapes and range of tones. I particularly like the angles created by the beam and the shadows of the figure. Also the line of the chain continuing with the shadow of the bench and the way it curves to the shadow of the runner is great. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted April 15, 2011 Just a fabulous image and I can't say it any better than Jorge or Gladys . Even without the humans, the image can stand on its own with a graphical design with layers starting at the foreground. All the best and thank you for your recent support. Link to comment
felixphoto 0 Posted April 15, 2011 First of all, I like the composition very much. This play of shadows makes the scene a bit surreal but at the same time gives great mood. Compliments, El! Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted April 16, 2011 To Vukasin:..........You might have a point. Given that the subject is in one place for a very limited amount of time I sometimes get caught up in the moment and not paying the utmost attention to those little details that can make or break a frame worthy shot. However, I posted this one because I like it. Thanks anyway. To Lester: ……….Thank you for coming by, always nice to read your comments. To Emmanuel:…………. Don’t dig too deep – basically I refer to the sunset light that can create some ‘friendly shadows’ to emphasize the objects to its best advantage. The more ‘unfriendly’ shadows I would have had at midday with the overhead light. To Jef, Radu, Jorge, Gladys, Mau, Tony F, Tony H, Sreten:…………. Thank you for taking the time to have a look and for letting me know your opinions on this one. I greatly appreciate your visit and feed-back. Link to comment
magua 0 Posted April 16, 2011 Bellissima istantanea, di queste ultime tre foto mi piacciano molto il contrasto e le ombre lunghe!! Link to comment
gunnar1664882369 1 Posted April 16, 2011 Shadows and light work very well. The photo is a good documentary to present people interests and activities. Lovely composed and presented. A strong street photograph. Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted April 17, 2011 I like the simplicity and the great perspective (You do seem to find some great lofty perches to observe your subjects from) Two seperate people intrinsically linked through thier shadows.Clever shadow play!Best RegardsAlf Link to comment
sumon_mukherjee 0 Posted April 18, 2011 An excellent storyteller with distinct shadow lines. Very well studied and masterfully captured. Best regards. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 18, 2011 the last three or new post show a similar feature a unique angle an elevated looking down approach... Any reason for the change in prespective. I can see the long or extended shadows give a twist on the work but just found it interesting of the major change in prespective... maybe just a change of pace but it did cause me to ponder... Like this shot but would have added a lot to get the full shadow of the man sitting also that would have added a bit to the compostion... Just a thought is all.. Again thanks for letting me share a bit with you my dear friend... MJ Link to comment
ray.koushik 0 Posted April 19, 2011 Very good. wish the second shadow was not cropped. compliments -koushik Link to comment
John Peri 1,039 Posted April 19, 2011 As always, so well composed and revealing also of our surroundings. The story line is strong here, as is the play in contrasts. Another excellent image, bravo. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted April 19, 2011 Mau, Gunnar, Agustin, Alf, Sumon, MJ, John thank you for taking the time to stop by and for letting me know your opinions on this one. Always a pleasure reading you. Thank you very much indeed. To Alf:…………. :) The ‘lofty perch’ is in fact my terrace facing the Po-river promenade where it all unfolds…To MJ and Koushik:………..Yes, you might have a point. As I said to Vukasin above, I sometimes get caught up in the moment and not paying the utmost attention to those little details that can make or break the shot. However, I posted this one because I like it. Link to comment
