Jack in B&W. Playing with the b&w function, adjusted contrast slightly in PS.

This is my son, Jack, taken this weekend. The original lacks some

contrast and didn't have the "luminous" quality I see in the best

B&Ws, so I used shift the levels in PSE a little to make the picture

go full scale. I may have overdone it a bit. As a sidenote, when I

reduced the size for posting I lost some detail in the darker areas.

I love the contrast... yet the bottom left hand edge (black triangle) is distracting from the subject. what is it...?
