Too dark? Too much contrast? Not enough tones? Not an IR image so I could

not pull enough tones out of it. Thanks for any comments and suggestions...

I looked at this for a little while and found it difficult to assess. there is still info in most of the dark areas and that is a plus -  but I find that the light areas of concrete are too light. there are some interesting textures on the concrete but the extreme contrast (light and dark) diminishes the appeal for me. i hope I don't sound too critical because it is a fine image. My intention was to be helpful and it is only an opinion based on personal preferences.

Thanks Tony for your time and thoughtful comments. They were indeed very helpful. I too feel it misses some magic, unlike the infrared images. I'd like to be able to put my finger on it as to why.

tony is right, i think. is a fine image, the contrast gives something dramatic to the scene and draws strong textures, but this contrast become, at my taste of course, too high in the light. somewhere, hide the man and what's doing. i just cropped a little on the top, thatìs all. is a nice photo.

Svetlana, thank you for kind words.

Andrea, Thank you for the analysis and I am so happy with your comment. This is my first B/W conversion from the D200... done after seeing your work with the same camera. I usually use the infrared D70 to convert B/W because of the tones, but after seeing your work decided to give the D200 a go. I could not get it as I would have liked.

Thanks to all for inspiring me to work some more on this one.
