jim_j2 9 Posted March 3, 2011 Had been watching & photographing the Eagles and most would catch a fish and head for a suitable tree to feed. But this one seemed as though it couldn't wait, and decided it was "fast food." Thanks for looking! Jim j. Link to comment

bob_belanger 1 Posted March 4, 2011 Amazing, it must be even more amazing to see it happen. Next, you'll be showing one that can text while flying... Link to comment
jim_j2 9 Posted March 4, 2011 Many thanks for taking the time to look & comment!I think I'll have just a couple of more opportunities with these magnificant birds before they move out of the area.If you've never attempted to photograph them in the wild, . . . I can assure you "it's a challenge you will never forget!" They don't get close, and my 100-400 with the 1.4X TC is not enough reach! They don't land very close if you're out of your vehicle, and although I have good hunting skills, there is no "sneaking up on them" either. You just have to set up your tripod somewhere to hide your movements, limit your movement, and be patient. But I can't say it's boring! The other day I was set up at the edge of a slight hill & tree at the waters edge. During the day I had two occasions when the Eagle with his catch was wanting to land in a tree near me, saw me, startled and dropped their catch that splashed in the lake not 20 feet from me. But it all happens so quick, I just can't get "the shot!"Out of the 324 shots from this last trip, it looks like I'll have maybe 10 that I can make work in some way!Again, thanks for your interest,Jim j. tm_j 30 Posted March 5, 2011 A very unique shot Jim! I had a couple shot of bald eagle in Alaska last summer (first time ever). They seems to be just scavenger hanging by the creek to eat dead Salmon but I've seen a lot of shot of eagle catching fish. Know a fellow in Kansas who's been posting bald eagle shot and I now realize that I don't have to go to Alaska to shoot this bird. Very unique shot and thanks for sharing! Link to comment

jim_j2 9 Posted March 6, 2011 Thanks for taking the time to look and leave a comment! Much appreciated! Tm J, You're certainly welcome to make the trip to Kansas next year, I expect most of the heavy population of Bald Eagles will be moving out in the next couple of weeks. I only know of a couple nests.I'd be more than happy to do the pre-trip scouting!Again, thanksJim j. Link to comment
vs1 0 Posted March 13, 2011 Jim. Ungortunately I'll never have a chance to see these fantastic birds in action. And must say I almost envy you. What to say. In a quantity of simmilar pages such as photo.net I didn't find that much photographers with so many different views to a life, sill or alive. And Eagls who are really difficult even see you did a fantastic job here. Fast food / In-flight meal is a quite apropritate title. Even more. Comp and a moment are magnificant. This one goes to my favourites... Wish you a lot successful photos as this one, Best, Vukasin Link to comment
swede621 0 Posted March 31, 2011 Very nice shot, Jim. Great topic and composition. Never seen a raptor eating while flying. Seems they always take their meal away and eat while perched or on the ground.Very well done... Link to comment
